The colorful kitchen of a Uruguayan chef


Tannat is a French grape strain that was decimated by an epidemic and exported by French emigrants to Uruguay. Today this country is the official producer of wines of this variety, and that is why it is the name that the Artigas brothers have chosen for their restaurant.

"When it comes to making a dish, I am inspired by the colors of its ingredients" says Fernando Artigas, a chef who studied Fine Arts and who cooks out of passion and vocation ".

Creative, different and very artistic recipes

Among the chef's specialties are the cuttlefish and shrimp burger, the tofu, seaweed and chickpea burger, or the chicken curry that he cooks for up to two hours so the sauce is reduced.

 

"When preparing a dish, I am inspired by the colors of its ingredients" says Fernando Artigas, a chef who studied Fine Arts and who cooks out of passion and vocation ".

Fernando Artigas cooks as his mother and grandmother did, that is why time is an important part of his recipes. "My Iberian ham croquettes have a creamy texture, and the meat burgers, with bacon, ham, cheese ... are a success."

Pablo Artigas, the other half of Tannat, explains that events that host up to one hundred people are held here.
