More than 150 gastronomic experiences
It is a wine of very limited production, barely 4000 bottles have seen the light, and it has the appellation "Vi de la terra". Those in charge of carrying out the introduction and presentation of 1580 were the president of the association, Alfonso Robledo, and the director of the winery, the youngest in Mallorca, Oleg Karavaev. Of course, the sponsorship of Barcala & Partners could not be absent.
The Mallorcan winemaker Pere Crespí, creator of this wine, was in charge of explaining its organoleptic characteristics. In his words “1580 is the flagship wine of the winery, the place where the native Callet grapes are linked with the noble foreign variety Cabernet Sauvignon. After twelve months of previous barreling of the best grapes of the year of each variety, they are left for six more months in 300 and 500 liter barrels, to give birth to a very special, round and friendly wine ”.
After the relevant explanations, the wine in question was tasted, but also all the varieties from the winery. Reds like Sa Talaia and Mataca, whites like Defensor and Corsari, and the pink Vigília were served in a relaxed and playful atmosphere. Pastelería Maysa de Santa Ponça was in charge of providing a very Mallorcan aperitif: trampó and vegetable cocas, cocarrois, meat empanadas and mini sweet and savory snacks.
A great success to welcome a wine that will give a lot to talk about.
