Delicious, fresh and different. The Blanc de Blancs de Macià Batle is known and recognized for its characteristics and for its many awards. Made with fifty percent press grape, forty-nine percent chardonnay and one percent muscat, the wine that is now presented was bottled a little over a year ago.

For its part, the chardonnay and muscat grape is collected a month earlier, in mid-August.
Pneumatic presses are used to extract the wort, which limit the pressure and allow the must to be obtained. When impurities are removed from the wort, fermentation begins with selected yeasts, at a very controlled temperature not exceeding seventeen degrees.

A year after its bottling, the resulting wine is a bright yellow colour with greenish reflections, very clean. Specially noteworthy are the varietal aromas, with notes of white pulp fruit such as apple, banana, peach... tropical fruits such as pineapple. Citrus tones such as grapefruit and some light floral and herbaceous notes such as fennel also stand out.
On the palate the Blanc de Blancs 2019 is intense, unctuous, fresh and balanced, and very persistent.
The experts of the Macià Batle wineries advise serving it, at most, at no more than eight degrees of temperature to enjoy its organoleptic characteristics to the fullest.
This new award for the highest scored wine in Spain, awarded by the Spanish Union of Catadores, represents a more recognition of the good work, the good land and the good work of the Macià Batle Wineries, a distinction that was awarded in the XXXIII National Youth Wine Competition.
The Baco Awards are the only competition in Spain open exclusively to wines produced in the most recent harvest, in the case of last year's contest, that of 2018. There are no restrictions of typology, so white, rosé, red, sparkling and sweet wines can participate, nor of origin, which includes wines with appellations of origin, wines of the land, table wines... It is one of the most important competitions held in Spain.

The jury consists of fifty judges, all members of the Spanish Union of Catadores, and is chaired by Fernando Gurruchagui. They were responsible for evaluating in strict blind tasting all the wines registered in the Bacchus Awards.
With last year there are already thirty-three editions held, and all of them have counted on the Spanish Union of Catadores as master of ceremonies. Thanks to the seriousness and objectivity of these professionals, the Bacchus Awards have established themselves as the longest-running contest recognized by the relevant bodies.
It is worth mentioning the total anonymity of the samples presented to the juries, which were introduced in opaque cases, as well as the service by the sommeliers belonging to the IES Hotel Escuela de la Comunidad de Madrid. It is also the use of the official tasting sheets of the Spanish Union of Catadores for the main national and international wine competitions that ensured the complete objectivity of the qualifications granted.
