In each city there are establishments that we could call cult because of the extraordinary roots they have achieved over the years.
We all come to mind the place to have a chocolate with ensaimadas, a variety, some Mallorcan soups ... and, when we think of a restaurant, nothing better than Los Rafaeles when it comes to eating well, specialties from the great Mallorcan pantry, while the idiosyncrasy of the local diner is known first-hand.
Indeed, Los Rafaeles is not only a good restaurant, but it is also a meeting point in the heart of Ciutat; to all this, the meals on Fridays are famous, which last until late in the afternoon between drinks and lively conversations.
Jaime Pizá Bennsar "es Menut" and Rafael Calle
The person in charge of all this is called Jaime Pizá Bennasar (“Cas Birlo”, Binissalem, 1942) and he works for es Menut. Often, yes, but as an essence of ravishing humanity; stubborn, more powerfully charismatic; immense in his unquestionable work as a watchdog of good cuisine and social relations, over more than 50 years in his endearing Los Rafaeles.
At the bar, every day the stews that Es Menut has prepared are displayed since 6 in the morning.
At 78 years old, he continues to cook croquettes, meatballs, fried, snails, salad ..., which, together with fish, seafood and select meats, cut acorn-fed ham and an assortment of the best classic desserts, make up the proposal of this Mallorcan inn, authentically endearing.
